Hotel accommodation
will be reserved when Congrex Sweden AB has received the registration
form, together with the hotel deposit. The deposit will be
deducted from the hotel bill upon presentation of the participant’s
personal voucher, which will be issued upon registration in
Brussels. Hotel reservations should be made on the registration
form. Congrex reserves the right to book another hotel if
the desired accommodation should be fully booked. After the
deadline for hotel reservation, which is September 1, 2004,
Congrex Sweden AB cannot guarantee a hotel room or the preferential
rate. For payment details, see below.
The hotel reserves the right to charge you for all nights
reserved and guaranteed on the registration form, should you
check out before confirmed departure date, or in case of no-show.

Payment
Payment should be made in advance by one of the following
methods:

Banker’s draft, which should be sent together with
the registration form by ordinary mail. The Banker’s
draft should be purchased at your bank and made out in EUR
to Congrex Sweden AB, Attn: EUFEPS 2004, payment
reference number 0421. Please cross the draft.
We are not able to accept personal cheques, company cheques
or Eurocheques.

American Express, Visa or Eurocard/Mastercard may be used
for all charges. Please indicate card number and expiry
date on the registration form.
Please
do not forget to indicate your name and the payment reference
number 0421 on all money transfers. Events and hotel
reservations will be confirmed when Congrex Sweden AB has
received payment.
Admission to the EUFEPS 2004 granted only if Congrex Sweden
AB has received the registration fee. Delegates who have made
late payments, should bring a proof of payment to the Congress.
Failure to present this receipt on request gives Congrex Sweden
AB the right to charge the amount to your credit card.
Welcome
to Exhibit
There will be ample opportunity to exhibit at the EUFEPS 2004,
and you are invited to participate. It will be a unique opportunity
to meet experts in drug discovery, development, evaluation
and information. We plan to build an integrated exhibition,
posters and coffee-break area, where delegates could inform,
interact and learn. Abstracts are expected from any of the
pharmaceutical scientific fields (cf. “Call
for Abstracts ”, above).
The exhibition is open to providers of technical instruments,
equipment and know-how, including processes and facilities,
books, training and education, computer software and other
items and services needed for the whole process of drug discovery,
development, distribution, monitoring and evaluation of medicines
and drug therapy. Example exhibitors include: Organisations
undertaking contract research in any phase of drug discovery,
development and clinical trials and other evaluation, instrument
and apparatus manufacturers, pharmaceutical and biotechnology
equipment manufacturers and suppliers, clinical supplies manufacturers
and packagers, excipient suppliers, companies selling biological
and biotech enzymes, proteins, natural products, chemicals,
reagents etc., companies supplying CRO services to major biology,
discovery, development and biotech companies, companies undertaking
contract analyses, and animal suppliers.
The EUFEPS 2004 Exhibition is organised and marketed by the
Congrex Sweden AB, which has long experience of professional
and commercial exhibitions of all sizes.

Plan
Careers
Forum
EUFEPS plans to
set up a Careers Forum for job oportunities, at the 2004 Congress.
Companies and organisations, having delegates participating
in, sponsoring or exhibiting at EUFEPS 2004, will be offered
a time slot to present job openings for, primarily, PhD students
and post-doctoral research fellows.
Their interest will be registered, and room will be provided
for first interviews.
The second “EUFEPS
Conference on Optimising Biotech Medicines: Rational development
of therapeutic proteins” is scheduled for Thursday-Friday,
October 14-15, 2004, as a pre-satellite of the EUFEPS 2004 Congress.
For those registering for both the EUFEPS 2004 and the Conference
on Optimising Biotech Medicines, the Conference fee will be
reduced. Posters and exhibitors would be welcome to join also
this Conference.

Programme
Welcome
Reception
The Welcome Reception is planned for the Comic Strip Museum,
on Monday, October 18, 2004. Please note that the Welcome Reception
is included in the registration fee for participants, as marked
on the registration form.
Congress
Dinner
The Congress Dinner will be held at the Restaurant La Manufacture,
on Tuesday October 19, 2004.
La Manufacture is located in the now trendy, formerly run down
old small manufacturing units, parts of Brussels close to Anderlecht.
Set back from Rue Notre-Dame du Sommeil, the restaurant is a
fine re-work of an old factory, evoking the spirit of workers’
past as twenty-first century diners gorge on the productivity
gains of the last hundred years.

Information
In the heart of Belgium lies a city which embraces the finest
of Europe’s past, present and future. The pentagon, a
ring road which was built on the old city wall, is the heart
of the city where you can find the most beautiful, delicious
and fine things. In the narrow cobbled streets surrounding the
Place Saint-Géry there are pubs full of atmosphere, restaurants
and unusual shops. The Grand Place, ”the most beautiful
square in the world” according to Victor Hugo. If it is
not the most beautiful, it is certainly one of the best preserved
squares in Europe. Some of the buildings date from the 13th
century. Brussels has a long tradition of hospitality and welcomes
you to the ”new capital of Western Europe”.

Badges
Each participant will receive a name badge upon registration.
For security reasons all participants are requested to wear
their badge during all the Congress and social events. The cost
for replacing a lost badge is EUR 50.

or damage to, any luggage and/or personal belongings.

Internet access will be available within the Congress venue.
Meals
Coffee and lunch boxes are included in the registration fee
and will be served daily.

On-site
Registration in Brussels
On-site registration for EUFEPS 2004 will be open on Sunday
October 17, 2004, at 16.00-21.00, at the Marriott Hotel (see
“Useful addresses”). The registration
desk and Congress secretariat will be located at Brussels Expo,
in hall 10, from Monday – Wednesday October 18-20, 2004,
and will be open during the Congress hours.
Passport
and Visa
Participants are advised to make their own arrangements with
respect to entering Belgium.
Public
Transport Card
At the registration in Brussels you will be given a personal
public transport ticket. This ticket entitles you to free transport
on public commuter trains, the underground and buses in Brussels
during the Congress.
Arrival
at Brussels International Airport
The airport is no more than 10 minutes away from Brussels Expo,
by road. You also have the option of taking a taxi or a train
to the city center. The “Airport City Express” leaves
four times every hour (between 06.00 and midnight). The journey
takes about 15 minutes.
Taxis are available outside the arrival hall at the airport
and the fare to the city center is about EUR 35.

Congrex Sweden AB has been appointed the official Congress organiser
for this event. The Congrex Group works internationally with

Cancellations
Cancellation
of Registration
Notification of cancellation must be made in writing and sent
to Congrex Sweden AB. Cancellations of registration will be
accepted until September 1, 2004, up to which date the total
amount will be refunded less EUR 50 for administrative expenses.
For cancellations made after September 1, 2004, we regret that
no refunds can be made.
Change
of Name
Should you be unable to attend, you will be given the opportunity
to send a colleague in your place. The change of name should
be made latest on October 8, 2004.
Cancellation
of Hotel Reservation
Notification of cancellation must be made in writing and sent
to Congrex Sweden AB. Cancellation of any hotel reservation
will be accepted until September 1, 2004, up to which date the
hotel deposit will be refunded. We regret that the hotel deposit
cannot be refunded after September 1, 2004.
Cancellation
of Social Events
Notification of cancellation must be made in writing and sent
to Congrex Sweden AB. Cancellation of social events will be
accepted until October 1, 2004, up to which date the total amount
will be refunded. For cancellations received between October
2-8, 2004, 50% of the expenses will be refunded. We regret that
no refund will be made after October 8, 2004.
